7/2/08 HERSHEYPARK

7/4/08 4th OF JULY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Celebrate our nation’s birthday in the nation's capital. Don't miss the parade, with more then 100 marching units stepping out at noon along Constitution Avenue, between 7th and 17th Streets. When that's over, enjoy the Folklife Festival happening all around the Smithsonian. The festival typically includes daily and evening programs of music, song, dance, celebratory performance, crafts and cooking demonstrations, storytelling and illustrations of workers' culture. The festival participation - to learn, sing, dance, eat traditional foods from mid-afternoon until the fireworks. The fireworks begin around 9:20 pm over the Washington Monument grounds. Enjoy the city and this festival on this momentous day.

7/5/08 BALTIMORE INNER HARBOR

Enjoy the day at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. It is one of America’s oldest seaports welcoming people, ships and goods since the 1600’s. In the harbor there is something for everyone to enjoy. Shop and eat in the Light and Pratt Street Pavilions, board The USS Constellation, the last Civil War Vessel afloat, or visit the National Aquarium or Maryland Science Center. Take the water taxi to Fort McHenry and Federal Hill or walk to Camden Yards and the shops found there. All this and so much more can be found in and around the Baltimore Inner Harbor.

7/6/08 KUTZTOWN FOLK FESTIVAL

One of the ABA Top 100 Events for 2008, this is the oldest continuing folklife festival in the US. This folk art festival exhibits traditions that have been passed thru generations exhibiting crafts, pottery, fine furniture, clothing and so much more. This is also home to the largest Quilt Sale offering over 2000 beautiful handmade PA Dutch quilts in the nation. If this isn’t enough to tempt, then think about the variety of PA Dutch food that will be available at this event, from small snacks to full course to all –you-can eat dinners.

Although Jim Nabors is more widely remembered as “Gomer Pyle” he also hosted his own variety program called “the Jim Nabors Show”. His beautiful baritone voice allowed him to enjoy a successful career as a cabaret singer and easy listening balladeer. He will be singing some of those contemporary, gospel and country favorites. He may be older now but he still has that sweet sounding voice.

7/11/08 WILDWOOD, NJ

Wildwood, located in the middle of the Wildwoods’ Five Mile Island, is known for its beach and boardwalk. The 2.5 mile world-famous boardwalk offers breathtaking amusement rides, specialty shops, eateries, and water parks. The Boardwalk offers something for everyone. The very young and young at heart can enjoy the double-decker classic carousel. For the more adventuresome, ride the East Coast’s tallest Ferris Wheel to get a spectacular view of the five mile island, or for the dare devil in the family, try “The Great Nor’Easter”, the suspended looping coaster 1 of only 4 in the world. 7/13/08 PITTSBURGH ZOO & AQUARIUM

The Pittsburgh Zoo, situated on 77 beautifully landscaped acres is a great one-stop zoo for the entire family. It is home to thousands of animals representing over four hundred species, including 32 threatened or endangered species. 7/17 - 18/08 A TRIP TO REMEMBER

This tour will be one not to be forgotten for some time. The first day will include visits to two of Frank Lloyd Wrights’ favorite creations. Fallingwater, near Ohiopyle, was built in 1936 for the Edgar J. Kaufmann family. Built with a water fall going thru the home it is a one of a kind. The second home is Kentuck Knob, built into a side of a mountain some 20 years after Fallingwater was built. These are just 2 of 6 Wright properties found in Pa but are representative of the genius of this man who truly was before his time. A Nat King Cole tribute will be a part of the entertainment after check in and dinner at the Mountain View Inn. The second day will begin with a trip to the Flight 93 Temporary Memorial and Chapel as a tribute to the fateful day in September. Also included will be a stop at the Quecreek Mine Rescue site at the Arnold Farm. This area is to commemorate a happier time. Hear the miraculous account of those miners who still live today. There will be other little stops along the way that will make this one of those “trips to remember”.

7/18 - 20/08 WASHINGTON DC/ANNAPOLIS WEEKEND

This weekend will be an experience you will not soon forget! Upon our early evening arrival to Washington DC, we will check into the Comfort Inn Capitol Gateway in Landover, MD. After an evening meal we’ll be treated to a spectacular ceremony and nighttime United States Marine Parade. Experience the universal symbol of professionalism, discipline, & Espirit de Corps of the U.S. Marines. Day 2 will include a visit to Annapolis for a tour, cruise, lunch, and free time. A colonial attired guide will bring history to life while strolling through the historic downtown Annapolis and the Maryland State House. Experience the US Naval Academy, home to over 4,000 mid shipmen (Photo ID is required to enter State House & USNA). Lunch is at the infamous Phillips Restaurant (meal selection required). The afternoon will feature a cruise on the Harbor Queen, a narrated cruise of the Harbor and banks of the US Naval Academy and free time to explore Annapolis on our own. Day 3 includes a visit to Mount Vernon. Sit in on seminars or cooking demonstrations, enjoy walking the “streets” named after merlot, pinot, cabernet, chardonnay, and Riesling in search of a new favorite.
