12/13, 16 & 30 New York City (free day)

NYC packs more to see and do into one compact area than any other place on earth. The city known as the "big apple" is made up of five boroughs, so why not visit them all and see what each is famous for? Spend time in the Bronx visiting the zoo, or a culinary tour of Arthur Avenue & Belmont sipping cappuccinos, watching locals make pasta and sampling ricotta. Hop a cab to Brooklyn, admire the art galleries, independent bookshops and boutiques that line the cobblestone streets of Dumbo or sample some of the creative food vendors along the riverfront of Williamsburg before crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge, back to Manhattan. Catch the bright lights of Time Square and Broadway shows, or picnic in Central Park. Jump the subway for a quick jaunt to Queens, try some traditional Greek dishes in Astoria, hunt down those rare Japanese comic books in Flushing or check out Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City. Finally hop a ferry to Staten Island, taking in the view of the Statue of Liberty along the way, fill up on some authentic Indian curry at New Asha while watching a game of cricket on TV, then explore colonial life in Historic Richmond Town. Too much for one day? Why not spread it out over several visits, and good thing there are, we have a tour going into the city at least once a month!
