In honor of one of our nation's most beloved treasures, and a living reminder of international friendship and the beauty of nature, celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Cherry Trees. In 1912, an incredible gift of 3000 cherry blossom trees was bestowed on Washington, DC by Tokyo, Japan. Rooted strongly and surviving outside elements, the trees have withstood the test of time. The date when the Yoshino cherry blossoms reach peak bloom varies from year to year depending on weather conditions. A short driving tour of the Tidal Basin area where a large concentration of trees may be found will be included. The group will be dropped in the area of the Smithsonian Institute for passengers to spend the remainder of the stay as they chose. The smartest way to visit the new 9/11 Memorial in New York is via Liberty State Park in New Jersey. Take advantage of this opportunity and see 3 attractions on this on tour. Lady Liberty is under construction inside this year, so the Monument Pass will not be included but on the outside she is still the iconic symbol that welcomes visitors to New York. Here is something a little different, this is more for the adventuresome group out there. There is plenty to see and do and something special at every turn in Watkins Glen, NY. This "free" day allows a couple hours to just explore on your own. What a fun little town to walk. There is time for shopping in the quaint downtown and boutique style shops. For the more adventuresome...hike the Gorge. The bus will drop people at the top, but go from the bottom if you prefer! Stop by the Visitors Center for the latest info on the day's happening. Grab lunch in a local restaurant. Now for the hikers, Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200 foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade. There are some phenomenal photo opportunities just waiting to be shot. Later in the afternoon, everyone should meet at Captain Bill's in the Harbor to board the vintage motor vessel Stroller IV. Discover the beauty and charm of Seneca Lake as it may only be seen from the water. You will be captivated by Hector Falls at 165 ft., the majestic cliffs of the east shore with Native American paintings, and a view of the salt industry. This is an excellent way to end the vacation before returning to work.

What started out as an agricultural exhibition on the lower end of South Street in 1855 has grown to be the largest fair in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Back on the Susquehanna calendar this year by request is the Fall 2012 AAA 400 at the Dover International Speedway. This one mile track is unique in that it is neither a superspeedway nor a short track. Also, it is one of three concrete oval tracks used in NASCAR's major series. He stands 46 feet tall and is one of the largest fiberglass structures in the country. On this vacation, the first of two nights will be spent in the heart of the White Mountains at the Snowy Owl Inn in Waterville Valley. Day 2 includes one of the most scenic rides in New England, particularly during the fall foliage season! Day 4 will include another train ride from the college town of Brunswick, the Maine Eastern Railroad will provide a scenic rail excursion to the Lobster Capital of Maine, Rockland. This tour is a little different than the usual tours of historic areas. For over two hundred years, stories of the Battle of Gettysburg have been told. The Radio City Christmas Spectacular is the legendary variety show that has been a Christmas tradition in New York City for generations. In a series of scenes, the incredible stage at Radio City Music Hall is filled with the world-famous Rockettes, plus singers, ice-skaters, kids, a full orchestra and various animals, including a camel - for the show stopping Living Nativity. Outfitted in a series of eye-popping costumes, the Rockettes perform on a double-decker bus for a spin around NYC, a sparkly staircase and a snowy forest, plus their toe-tapping version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. No need to worry, they will also perform the legendary classic "Parade of Wooden Soldiers". Each scene is enhanced by video backdrops displayed on one of the world's largest LED screens. This year will be the 80th annual edition so you'll have to come to see what new scenes those lovely ladies might have put together. Time will be available either before or after the show for some shopping, sightseeing and eating.

A request to repeat this tour, however, we are making a few changes. This year will permit more free time in Manhattan before boarding the motorcoach to Brooklyn. Visit the famous Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn that was made famous in a PBS documentary "Dyker Lights", ABC's 20/20 and was featured on the Chew and other daytime TV in 2011. Also visit the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn for their incredible display. Make certain to eat in Mid-town Manhattan as this tour will not include a dinner stop or the same amount of free time as our NYC one-day tours.
